For most of the Universities forming the consortium who agreed to develop and teach the Masters programme in East Africa, it was a first experience in working together with other Southern African Universities on a project, and the first experience of working outside their own borders. It involved much effort to make such an enormous commitment over three years possible within a situation of scarce resources, but it also lead to development in individuals and Schools. The benefits for consortium universities and its Faculty will be described and analyzed.
