Facing the Future Through Leadership Partners
Learning Objective #1: Discuss the characteristics of contemporary and futuristic academic/service partnerships
Learning Objective #2: Discuss the leadership roles these partners will play in planning for future health education and health care delivery systems
The notion of academic/service partnerships is not a new one – but the critical need for savvy new partnerships representing breakthrough thinking that will lead to new venture creation, the acquisition of new capital, the discovery of new ways to recruit and retain staff, the promotion of existing staff into expanded leadership and faculty/mentoring roles, and the enhancement of collaboration that, when used judiciously, positively affects the quality of clinical and organizational decision-making – is becoming ever more evident. As we face a potential public health crisis due to complex workforce and work environment challenges, we must seek emerging non-traditional partnerships linking leaders and resources. This presentation will offer insight into creative and innovative partnerships that offer leaders a new way of doing business in a complex world of great uncertainty. Key words: academic/service partnerships; innovation; creative leadership
