General Submission Guidelines
- All abstracts must be submitted via this online submission system. (Follow the hyperlinks on this page).
- Abstracts must be in English.
- Abstract text should be original and in compliance with all copyright laws (i.e., not submitted for future publication/presentation and not previously published/presented). Abstracts can discuss work that was used in a prior presentation/publication or submitted for future publication/presentation. However, the abstract text and focus must be different.
- The same abstract cannot be submitted to both the preconference and the congress.
- You are strongly encouraged to compose the abstract text in your own word processor before submitting it online. Be sure to check spelling, word count and conformance with the guidelines.
- No italics, Greek letters, or other special fonts are permitted.
- An individual may submit more than one abstract. However, space and time constraints may allow only one selected presentation per author/organizer.
- All communication regarding the preconference will be sent to the first author/organizer. A valid e-mail address is required for all submitters.
- Once you begin a submission, you will receive an e-mail giving you the submission ID# and password. These can be used if you need to access your submission at any time in the future. The ID# and password will also be helpful if there are any problems with your submission.
- After the deadline (15 December 2005) for submitting an abstract has passed, an e-mail will be sent from Sigma Theta Tau International to confirm receipt of the abstract and that it will be sent for review.
- Only complete submissions (see below for what constitutes a complete submission) will be sent for review. Submissions that are incomplete after the deadline will be withdrawn from the system and will not be sent for review.
- Presented abstracts will be entered into Sigma Theta Tau International's Registry of Nursing Research.
- Notifications will be sent to all first authors/organizers by e-mail in March 2006.
- Final acceptance is conditional upon registration of presenters by the Early Registration Deadline.
- For oral presentations and symposia, presenters must use PowerPoint or present without audio-visual equipment. A computer and projector for PowerPoint will be the ONLY audio-visual equipment provided. No additional audio-visual equipment (i.e., speakers for sound, laser pointers, etc.) or software (i.e., Flash, QuickTime, media players, etc.) will be supplied or can be used. PowerPoint presentations will be requested in advance of the congress and linked on the presentation computer for a smooth transition.
- For poster presentations, the poster board will be supplied by Sigma Theta Tau International. However, there will not be room for any additional equipment (i.e., tables, chairs, laptops, etc.) at the poster presentations.
