Putting Knowledge Into Action: Changing Curricula to Reflect EBP Principles

This session will start off with a brief description of a course transformation example. Since it has been well documented that only one form of teaching is not effective for optimum learning (Sackett & Parkes, 1998), the final session of this symposium is designed to offer the participants an opportunity to “do” what they have learned. One-on-one and group consultation will be offered so that participants who have brought their course or program objectives can be assisted to initiate changes to integrate EBP principles. At the end of this process, important examples will be shared in a group discussion. All presenters will facilitate this activity, with one presenter leading the discussion. Participants attending this session are asked to bring current syllabi, along with course and program objectives.
