Introduction: The Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a public health problem. In Mexico, according to the results of the National Health and Nutrition Survey of the Middle Way, 9.4% of the population has a diagnosis of DM. Likewise, the national survey reports that the prevalence of diabetes in the State of Nuevo León is higher than the national average, 11.4% in people over 20 years of age, in women the prevalence is greater 15.5%; in men it occurs in 7.1%. In addition, this condition increased in the age group between 40 to 59 years, 7.9% in men and 20% in women.

Objective: To test the feasibility of the intervention in people diagnosed with Dt2 residing in the metropolitan area of Monterrey Nuevo León.

Methods: A mixed design is proposed. In the quantitative part it will be quasi-experimental with experimental group (intervention) and control group with repeated measurements (Burns & Grove, 2017). The intervention group Living with Diabetes - Learning to Care for my Skin and the control group will receive a lithography with basic skin care according to the recommendations of the ADA, 2017. With qualitative methodology, the emotions and feelings of the people will be explored. with DT2.

Overall objective To test the feasibility of the intervention in people diagnosed with DM residing in the metropolitan area of Monterrey Nuevo León. Specific objectives: FIRST PHASE (Duration 1 year) Refine the intervention Living with Diabetes - Learning to Take Care of my Skin Evaluate the feasibility of the intervention Living with Diabetes - Learning to Take Care of My Skin SECOND PHASE: (Duration 6 months) • Identify knowledge about skin care and signs and symptoms indicative of infection • Identify actions that people perform to maintain the integrity of the skin • Relate the perception of the disease with skin care and self-monitoring • Identify the 24-hour food consumption of people with T2D • Identify food addiction in people with T2D • Identify the physical activity of people with DT2 • Identify skin lesions in people with T2D • Identify the clinical characteristics (years with the disease, anthropometric (BMI,% size, weight, BCI and biochemistry (Glucose, HbA1c, Lipid profile) of people with T2D • Know the emotions and feelings towards the disease and skin care of people with T2D. • Relate biochemical characteristics with skin lesions • Relate food addiction with the state of the skin and anthropometric and biochemical characteristics. THIRD PHASE: (Duration 6 months) • Evaluate the effect of the intervention at three and six months, indicators of skin integrity result, reduction of depressive symptoms, in food addiction.
