To achieve peak performance, innovating organizations must be able to consume massive amounts of information from a variety of sources and synthesize it quickly.  According to Bennet and Bennet (2004), the process of knowledge management involves sensing its individual and collective knowledge, promoting information exchange and nurturing a culture of innovation.  One approach, the use of dashboards to monitor mission-critical data, can assist leaders of an organization to keep ahead of the curve and respond to evolving changes in the environment.  Dashboards make visible the often invisible aspects of an organization by tracking trends, spotting problems, identifying inefficiencies and measuring performance.  This presentation will provide an overview of how dashboards are used in higher education with practical ideas about how to create meaningful performance indicators for managing corporate capital.
