True innovation frequently occurs at the intersection of various disciplines or different knowledge environments.  Rapid acceleration of nursing knowledge through technology requires strong and long term partnerships with experts from academic, practice and corporate settings.  The various perspectives of nurse leaders in these environments can promote new ways of learning and new ways of knowing across organizational cultures. Such collaborations are both stimulating and challenging.  This paper describes and analyzes the enormous potential and significant challenges encountered when bridging organizational cultures and boundaries in search of a shared goal.
