The purpose of this session is to introduce the School of Nursing Curriculum for Safe Patient Handling to the attendees. The American Nurses Association’s “Handle with Care” campaign, called for a pilot study to reshape Nursing education. The project criteria specified development and implementation of new evidence-based curriculum.   The module removed “body mechanics” and introduced “safe patient handling and movement” into Nursing Fundamentals class.  Both didactic and clinical student nurse curricula will be described. Patient Assessment and decision making Algorithms will be utilized to demonstrate how to guide students when choosing technological equipment to move and transfer patients.
