Description/Overview: The Elsevier Foundation has provided funding for the development of a new Nurse Faculty Mentored Leadership Development program. Administered by the Sigma Theta Tau International’s (STTI) International Leadership Institute, this program is designed to promote faculty retention and cultivate high performing, supportive work environments in academe. Through the eighteen-month mentored experiential leadership development program new nurse faculty will attend an intensive workshop, engage in monthly online faculty led discussion groups, create and implement a sustainable education leadership project, and design an individual leadership development plan. An international team of expert faculty has designed a challenging curriculum which will promote successful outcomes for the individual new faculty, the academic institutions of both the participant and the mentor, and the community of nurse educators.
