Learning Objective 1: Recognize opportunities for collaboration among health care agencies, community workforce development, and academic institutions that can promote positive health care outcomes

Learning Objective 2: Use the example of the 'Pathway to Publication" workshop to plan their own collaborative project

This poster/presentation describes a collaborative partnership among a
workforce and community services division at a community college,
an education department at a large regional magnet hospital
network, and a nursing faculty member.
Academics are uniquely poised to share their skills in research and
writing for publication with their colleagues in service. Nursing
professors should look for opportunities to partner with those who
can match them with health professionals who can benefit from
their unique knowledge and expertise.
An 8 hour workshop was prepared, based on specific identified
needs identified by the client.

Health professionals have a moral imperative to: communicate with other professionals
and diss eminate information, to question the "staus quo", to share knowledge to improve
policy, practice and outcomes, to facilitate self and public scrutiny of their discipline, to
foster accountability and responsibility, and to promote the development of the discipline.
Nursing professors can help other health professionals reach thes e goals by seeking or
developing opportunities to share their skills and knowledge related to wr iting for
publication.
