D 08 Nursing Care of Women with Perinatal Risk

Monday, 31 October 2011: 10:00 AM-11:15 AM
Description/Overview: This symposium will explore the nursing care and challenges in caring for women with perinatal risk. Risk may be identified in the antepartum, intrapartum, or neonatal periods and may influence planning of care. Early identification and intervention may lead to improved pregnancy and newborn outcomes. Qualitative and quantitative methods may be used to identify risk factors and related nursing interventions.
Learner Objective #1: Identify perinatal risk factors in the antepartum, intrapartum, and neonatal time periods.
Learner Objective #2: Identify nursing interventions related to the care of women with perinatal risk.
