Description/Overview: This presentation will address the importance of basic medical infrastructure in the developing world and the impact it has on patient care and mortality rates. By simply improving the conditions of these types of rural facilities with limited resources, patient care can be advanced. This presentation will talk about the conditions and challenges of medical facilities in the developing world and how this can hender a patient's outcome. It will also cover the incredible work and care that healthcare workers provide with limited funding, equipment and staffing, yet still manage heavy patient loads with positive outcomes.
