Igniting Passion for Soulful Work

Bonnie Wesorick, RN, MSN, CPM Resource Center, Grand Rapids, MI, USA

Everyday millions of healthcare providers bring their unique gifts to the workplace. The commitment to make a contribution and a difference can be lost in the stressors of the work cultures that surround them. These stressors pierce the soul and cause the spirit and energy to slowly leak away. They create an exhaustion that no bonus, no day off, or extra hours of sleep will make go away. There is an exhaustion of the soul, the harbor for one’s deepest values.

The power of music was tapped and a CD developed with songs that address the day-in and day-out realities faced by many colleagues. The songs were used in a theater presentation that dramatized the story behind each song. It was created to inspire and connect the listener to their heart and ignite their passion for soulful work.
