Learning Objective #1: Describe the diverse application of internet-based education as it applies to RN refresher education
Learning Objective #2: Identify strategies for the development of an internet-based RN refresher education program

Recruiting and preparing registered nurses (RN) for re-entry into nursing using cyberspace. Who would have thought? Join us as we tell the story of our adventure during our endeavor to develop an internet based refresher course that “fit best” for the RN returning to clinical practice.

The purpose in development of our internet based RN refresher course was to provide a means to recruit nurses back into nursing during a time of essential need within healthcare. We felt that providing a means for knowledge acquisition to facilitate nurse re-entry back into the workforce needed to be done in a manner that offered convenience to the individual with family, job or other personal responsibilities. Therefore, our internet based refresher course was designed to provide the most current nursing knowledge in a convenient, self-paced, yet interactive manner that also provided basic computer competencies for those who needed them. Learn from our successes and our mistakes as we share our process in development and the evolution of our refresher course.
