Body Fahrenheit: Energies Plus
Norrie L. MacIlraith, RN, MS, CNS, N. Mac Limited: Nursing Facets, Rochester, MN, USA

The Human Body! Do we really consider the unique wonders and abilities of this complicated living form? Although bodies present as a myriad of different forms, sizes, shapes, and colours, there is a commonality.

What comes to mind hearing these words? Hot? Cold? Red, White, Blue? Flushed? Ashen? Burning up, or Freezing? They all reflect degrees of temperature as visualized at skin level observation. 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit is considered normal body temperature. Temperature is energy expounded. Body temperatures are one means to observe a fabulous matrix of energies.

With the advent of modern technology, using Thermal Imaging, we can now make a determination as to what these energies mean in diagnosis and planning interventions for individuals. What I find so interesting is that these areas are represented in varying colours showing temperature (thermal) zones within the Human Body. Red indicates the hotter areas or those with highest energy output.

“Body Fahrenheit: Energies Plus!” has been designed and crafted as a wall hanging quilt to portray these energies at the skin level of a human being. The variety of colours used represent the distribution of heat in the form of temperatures ranging from white/ yellows, blues, greens, pinks, and reds. I have added the external halo aura to represent extended energy surrounding everyone and causes one to say “A person electrifies a room!” or “exudes energy!”

Yes our Energies are indeed a Plus and must be cherished. They tell us our level of well-being.
