Learning Objective #1: Assist faculty in developing themselves as writers
Learning Objective #2: Assist faculty in developing outcome-oriented publishing groups

Publication is an expectation for promotion and tenure of faculty. How do nurses translate their clinical excellence into publishable manuscripts? This presentation will detail the development, implementation, and processes of an outcomes oriented publishing group which was developed to assist junior faculty in navigating the “publishing game.” Selection of topic and journal, the process of writing and queries, and successful submission will be addressed. Pitfalls and successes will be detailed. The evolution of nurses to successful authors in one baccalaureate program will be described.
