Special Session: Lessons Learned from Advisory Councils Supported by the International Board of Directors and the Chapter/Community Building Advisory Council
Learning Objective #1: Participants will discover the principles of developing transcendent teams through the stories and outcomes of Sigma Theta Tau International advisory councils.
Learning Objective #2: Participants will learn guiding principles, lessons learned and a prototype of building and sustaining a team and community.
With a new governance structure in 2003, The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, embarked on a journey of a new way of doing the business of the organization. This was facilitated by a flexible new governance structure, a part of which was the addition of advisory councils. Through this transition, there were key lessons learned, and guiding principles that rose to the surface. In this session, the leaders of advisory councils will share the way they approached their work, what lessons they learned, and what guiding principles drove their accomplishments.
