A Study of Work Stress of Nurses in Taiwan

Owing to the advanced technology nowadays, life becomes easier and better, and people become demanding to medical service. That is why the development of medical management has grown overall, insightful and international. In order to promote financial profit and quality control,the hospital management put stress not only on budget control and treatment workflow, but also on customer satisfaction. Nurses take the biggest proportion of all medical professionals, so their job satisfaction is key to the quality of medical service. Taiwan and China have become apart for over 50 years, but the medical information exchange among the nurses across Taiwan Straight has become even more frequent these days. However, very little research has focused on the above-mentioned topic. In this research, will make a comparison among the nurses across Taiwan Straight regarding job satisfaction and work stress versus political, economical, educational or managerial varieties. The results of this research will serve as a reference to medical management. This study has 1400 questionnaires and used SPSS 10.0 software to analysis.The analysis method include chi-square, T-test, ANOVA,multiple regression. It aims to find out the difference between the nurses of two hospitals located in Taiwan and China respectively, and to investigate the interaction among work stress. The results show negative relationships regarding work stress to job satisfaction. The research shows that the nurses in China obviously take higher physical stress than the nurses in Taiwan do. The results of this research may serve as reference to medical management or further research on relating topics.
