The importance of personal charisma will be discussed along with identification of key leadership characteristics such as integrity, intelligence, persistence and high level communication skills. Examples of transformational leadership will be discussed, including practical applications in today's healthcare environment. The articulation of vision, the importance of values and empowerment tactics will be featured as participants assess their own strengths in these critical areas. Specific topics include the retention of employees, tapping the constructive power of teams, using and not abusing psychological size, mentoring and succession planning and creating both a productive and humanistic workplace. Values identified from studies of high performing leaders will be discussed as the speakers work with participants to assess their own strengths in these areas.
