Creating Cultures of Excellence in Service and Academe
Learning Objective #1: Describe key leverage strategies and similarities in national programs designed to create cultures of excellence: Baldridge, Fortune 100 Best Places to Work, Magnet Recognition Program
Learning Objective #2: Discuss an organizational development model to shape cultures and improve human performance
How do you create work cultures where people thrive and develop to their peak performance while achieving results that are in alignment with the overall goals of the organization? This presentation will apply evidence based leadership strategies to both academic and service work cultures through an overview of three programs of excellence. The standards which compose the Baldridge National Quality Award, the Magnet Recognition Program, and the Fortune 100 Best Places to Work were designed to assess the culture of a workplace and its results. The standards of these three programs form a framework for not only assessing the infrastructure essential to excellence but the results or outcomes of the work. These three programs have several consistent, key components which can be leveraged to improve organizational performance. This presentation will describe not only the key elements of a high performing work culture, but strategies to inspire, develop and manage human performance.
