Major findings were as follows : 1. The mean score of work satisfaction as perceived by staff nurses was 4.07 (ranking from 1 - 7) 2. The overall work environment, and by either dimension including relationship dimension, personal growth dimension, and system maintenance and change dimension were significantly related to work satisfaction of staff nurses (r = .732, .616, .644, and.595 respectively, p < .01) 3. The multiple regression analysis revealed that 56.0 percent of variance in the work satisfaction of staff nurses was predicted by personal growth dimension, relationship dimension and system maintenance and change dimension (R2 = .560, p < .01). The study equation of these analysis was as follow : Zx Work satisfaction = .376**Z Personal growth dimension + .279**ZRelationship dimension + .247**Z System maintenance and change dimension
Findings indicated that good relationship to collgue, personal growth from work, and balances of system maintenance and change should be important strategies to improve.
