Learning Objective #1: understand the scale with well reliability and validity is important for students.
Learning Objective #2: understand students have their variability.

According to the previous qualitative study “Study of the Chemistry Learning Stress among the Nursing College Students”, data results of the chemistry learning stresses included individual and curriculum contents. The researchers thought every students have their variability, and developing a learning stressors scale with well reliability and validity is important for students. The purpose of this study was to descript learning stressors of chemistry and develop an instrument, called Learning Stressors Scale of Chemistry (LSSC), with acceptable validity and reliability to measure the studying chemistry's learning stressors for nursing college students. Sixty items were initially developed by surveying 137 nursing students, and twenty-six items were extracted based on the result of factorial analyses. Items were categorized into six factors: the stresses of external environment, generally self-concept, academic self-concept, learning motivation, interaction of teacher and student, and personal future. These six factors well explained 64.01% of the total variance and the reliability of Cronbach's á coefficient is 0.85. The results showed that this instrument possesses an acceptable content with validity, construct validity and internal consistency reliability. In conclusion, LSSC builds the guidance tool for teachers to understand the learning stressors of students towards study with more extensive sample examination in the future.
