Learning Objective #1: Our study results might help medical provider realize the tested patients in subjective perception. |
Learning Objective #2: The training program of exercise in respiratory failure patients were important to assist patients to wean off ventilator in early time. |
BackgroundFThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between subjective perceptions and ventilator weaning for ventilator patients following the training program of exercise. MethodsFSubjects was selected from patients with mechanical ventilator from a medical-center. Thirty subjects were equally divided into two groups either tested or controlled groups. Tested patients were trained to receive the activity of sit-up. Subjective perceptions were measured by using the subjective perceptions scale. Controlled patients stayed in the bed. In the study, expert validity was used to assess the content validity and reliability associated with a Cronbach's
a.817. .Data were collected and analyzed by descriptive, correlative, and interfential analyses using the SPSS/windows statistical software. ResultsFOur results demonstrated that overall psychological scores of negative perception in despair, depression, stress, fear and incertitude were significant difference (t=-3.65, p<.001) in four different time points. In addition, positive perception in controlled, hoped, fruitful, reliant, and family alimentation were also significant difference (t=4.06, p<.001). The successful rate of the tested group (86.7%) was higher than that of the controlled group (63.3%). Our study results might help medical provider realize the tested patients in subjective perception. ConclusionsFThe training program of exercise in respiratory failure patients were important to assist patients to wean off ventilator in early time.
