Learning Objective #1: The pelvic floor musles training by the biofeedback is effective for an old woman having stress urinary incontinence. |
Learning Objective #2: Pelvic floor musles training by the biofeedback is effective nursing intervention. |
Purpose: To examine an effect of the biofeedback training (BFT) for mathematics studies in EMG views of the pelvic floor muscles of the old woman having the stress urinary incontinence. Method: The object is woman 12 people of 61.3±6.9 years old. There was light incontinence of urine and carried out BFT for the first time. Insert a probe of FemiScan (Mega Electronics Ltd) in vaginal portion and repeat the contraction and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles and carry out biofeedback training. The subject refers to the square wave of the period with an integral calculus wave pattern (10Hz) of surface EMG (sEMG) for five seconds put on top of one another on the same screen, and the contraction that is intermittent to be able to put it together in the form exercises. Results: The greatest amplitude of the EMG was suppressed and could maintain the contraction for a long time, and sustained muscle activity was enabled. Because a contraction signal at the time of the relaxation did not appear, the ability for control of the muscle improved. Conclusion: As for the advanced age woman who carried out BFT for the first time, the tendency that a retraction of the pelvic floor muscles and relaxation improved by training of about 9 minutes was watched.
