Learning Objective #2: E-learning is one kind of teaching methods is not limited to the time that worth popularizing in education. |
In-service education is to promote the individual knowledge and technology in the specialty by means of various educational activities and methods. E-learning is one kind of teaching methods highly enthroned in recent years. Because learning is not limited to the time, E-learning is extensively applied to the in-service education in each kind of discipline. The aim of this program is to apply E-learning to promote the nursing staff in the knowledge of care for Parkinson's disease. The knowledge of care includes the four categories of the etiologies of diseases, health education of drugs, exams, operations. According to the classified development scales, the knowledge of care for Parkinson's disease of the clinical nursing staff was evaluated. The average of the assessment is 51; the least is 7.11 in the health education of exams. Consequently, we established a special case group to analyze the reasons including incomplete information of in-service education, no assessment after classes, no update Chinese information at hand to search, inconvenient learning tools. How to improve this situation is to set up E-learning of “Parkinson's disease” to let the nursing staff search on the internet at any time. One month later after the program, the average of the assessment for the nursing staff in the knowledge of care for Parkinson's disease increases by 35 (to 86). The score in the health education of exams increases by 9.54 (to 16.65). The average of satisfaction is 89% by five-level questionnaire; the most satisfying item is substantial in content (93.4%). E-learning is worth popularizing in education.
