Learning Objective 1: learn nurses'perceptions of older people’s dignity in Korea
Learning Objective 2: learn risk factors that threaten older people’s dignity in nursing home
Purpose: The maintenance of human dignity is an important element of nursing care. Despite this, older people's dignity is seldom defined and there are few guidelines that nurses may use in their practice to safeguard individual dignity. The purpose of the study was to identify nurses'perceptions of older people's dignity and risk factors that threaten older people's dignity, and identify nurses' experiences of ethically difficult care situations in nursing home. Method: Data was collected from 49 nurses in nursing home using a self-completion questionnaire. To analyze data, content analysis was done using an analysis scheme developed by the investigators. Result: None to report at time of abstract submission. Conclusion: Human dignity is an essential component of educational programs that prepare nurses for advanced practice. This study may suggests that interventions for compromised human dignity and provides data to use in the development of the educational program for nurses in nursing home.
