The purposes of this study were to explore the local wisdom for happiness and health promotion style among three generations who were children, adults, and aging in dwelling community, a case study of Ban Salabangpoo, Pakpoon Subdistrict, Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand. The study issues cover the local wisdom in accordance with their beliefs and traditions including their behavior for enhancing happiness and family relationship to support health promotion. The 330 informants of the study were the people who live in Ban Salabangpoo community that consist of 100 adolescents, 150 adults, and 80 aging. The data were collected by using the focus group discussion and brainstorming from 25 groups of the informants, each group was composed of 12-15 informants. Qualitative methods of analysis as content analysis were used. The findings of this study were categorized to 3 issues: 1) the local wisdom perceptions enhance happiness was different among three generations. Children perceived happiness as play, music, and performance whereas adults perceived one refer to their career. The older people's happiness related to the capability to give their wisdom for enhancing the way of life. 2) The factors affecting local health promotion were the resource characteristics, social value, and community respect for promoting local wisdom in daily life among people. And 3) The local wisdom strongly related to health promotion among three generations because deep relationship with the family and community member. Thus, it can conclude that the local wisdom was feasible and fit with the way of life in Thai community.
