Purpose:

Nurses need to feel valued and our experts in nursing in particular need paths that allow for continued growth and the sense that they are a highly valued commodity, which they are within the world of acute healthcare delivery.

Methods:

So, to create an atmosphere that reflects the value of expertise and knowledge we can develop a division of nursing informatics specialists who drive and guide nursing practice from the aspects of evidenced based care.

Results:

This evidenced based care can be infused into the world of informatics and electronic systems which then augment care delivery functions, and helps to develop paths that determine best practice for our nurses.

Conclusion:

Informatics roles gives nursing a platform to be influential in the electronic care delivery world.
