Description/Overview: As we move toward our vision for 2020, we aspire to be an intentionally global and technology-enabled organization that is meaningful and relevant to our members worldwide. One strategy for accomplishing this vision is to convert some of our traditional chapter operations to more contemporary, virtual formats. This session will present pros and cons of this new direction. We will present recent recommendations, outcomes and opportunities from STTI’s Virtual Chapter Task Force that will provide chapter leaders and individual members with resources for moving their work toward the virtual world. We will also share experiences and advice from chapters who have already ventured into this new mode of operation.
Learner Objective #1: Describe the advantages and disadvantages of using virtual formats for organizational business.
Learner Objective #2: List five strategies for success in virtual chapter operations
