I 10 SPECIAL SESSION: Writing for Publication

Description/Overview: Facilitated by the editors of the Journal of Nursing Scholarhip and Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing this interactive and participative session is an opportunity to learn more about writing for publication and increase the chances of successful publication. The session will be delivered around 4 interlinked themes: 1. Getting going: turning ideas into papers, selecting journals, author guidelines, process for writing, and mentorship 2. Submission processes: electronic submission systems, and the various stages of the submission and publication process 3. Peer review processes: what this entails, how to deal with feedback, how to re-submit 4. Ethical issues of publication: authorship, duplicate publication/salami slicing, conflict of interest, IRB/ethics approval
Learner Objective #1: have an appreciation of the processes and mechanics of writing for publication.
Learner Objective #2: know how best to respond to reviewer critique.
