Immersions: What Role Do They Play?

Immersions are face to face meetings that allow for students to build a sense of community. Immersions are more than delivery of didactic information. The face to face interactions form the communities’ identities and establish their synergy. Immersions provide opportunities to make connections that extend beyond the face to face meeting into the virtual world.

1.    Describe the role immersions plays in the development of learning communities.

2.    Describe innovative teaching strategies used during immersions to promote learning communities.
