Description/Overview: This presentation will focus on the career journey professional nurses embark on from initial graduation through mid-career. Strategies for career development and management will be discussed. Career opportunites for nurse from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests will be presented with practical information on how to achieve successes. Areas for discusion will include such areas as how to develop and maintain a resume and/or curriculum vitae, how to search for a new job opportunity, how to become an entrepreneur, how to maximize global opportunities, advancing your career through education, mentorship, professional networking and advocacy and the art of negotiation. Traveling your own career path is about reflecting on where you have been and where you want to go. This session will provide you with a "personal mentor" for your career joruney.
