Learning Objective 1: How often sexual violence happens in the process of the date of unmarried male and female and grasp sociocultural characteristics in Korea.
Learning Objective 2: To experience of doing harm and being the victim regarding sexual violence during the date.
To investigate actual state regarding how often sexual violence happens in the process of the date of unmarried male and female and grasp sociocultural characteristics that influences on the experience of doing harm and being the victim regarding sexual violence during the date.
Methods:
This study is the self-reported survey research and the period of collecting data was Oct. 12, 2011~Nov. 10, 2011. The participants in the study were total 279 persons that consist of 72 males and 207 females who lived in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheong regions. Awareness of sex by male and female, awareness of sexual violence during the date, experience of oppressive sexual violence in dating situation, experience of being the victim and experience of suffering from sexual violence were used as the research instrument and surveyed.
Results:
If looking into the experience of sexual violence during the date, 'Yes' was 1.8% and 'No' was 98.2% regarding the experience of the oppressive sexual violence as the attacker. Regarding the experience of the oppressive sexual violence as the victim, 'Yes' was 6.1% and 'No' was 93.9%. Regarding sociocultural characteristics along awareness of sex by male and female, the awareness of sexual violence during the date showed the negative correlation as they experience 'experience of being violated by their parents' and 'witness conflict situation between their parents' more.
Conclusion:
Regarding that the experience of violence in period of growth can reduce awareness of sexual violence during the date and can be connected to sexual violence actually, pan-national violence prevention system at national level should be devised so that the children in their period of growth cannot be exposed to the violence.
