L 11 SPECIAL SESSION: Research Abstracts and Grant Writing: Basic Strategies for Success

Description/Overview: This presentation will provide the novice researcher the basic strategies for writing research abstracts, proposals, and grants. The session will enable participants to gain a basic understanding of the characteristics of successful abstract and grants to enable them to put forth future submissions. Participants will interact with past recipients of STTI small grants and experienced research presenters who will provide practical information on the writing, submission, and follow-up process.
Learner Objective #1: describe the process of writing and refining research abstracts.
Learner Objective #2: discuss basic steps for developing successful research grants.
