Description/Overview: There are multiple issues facing the 21st century. Challenges in developing countries may lead to obstacles to providing health care. Challenges including poverty, chronic disease, an aging population and an inability to provide or utilize technological innovations provide the ability for nurses to expand their roles as healthcare providers. By assuming leadership roles, expanding nursing education and staying at the forefront of research nurses can advocate for good health, equality and justice.
