Purpose:

The Fuld is a unique entity that has built a strong reputation for leading organizations through the transformation to an evidence-based approach to care. This reputation has been built on several key pillars: founded by EBP experts; developed through deep knowledge and understanding of EBP; intentional integration of new knowledge into programs; thoughtful provision of EBP content for varied levels of practice; utilization of evidence-based teaching strategies and pedagogies; teaching provided by EBP experts; provision of consultation, timely follow up and development of organization specific action-plans; and a robust body of research studies that contribute to the body of evidence related to EBP.

Methods:

Based on our; extensive experience in providing EBP education programs and the feedback we have systematically gathered, emerging external evidence, and significant findings from research studies conducted through our Institute over the past seven years, the programs have evolved dramatically and are delivering measurable and highly significant results.

Results:

Organizations that have utilized the Fuld EBP approach that includes development of EBP mentors, are experiencing culture shifts to an EBP paradigm. Practices are changing, based on evidence. Long standing, sacred cows are being slayed, based on evidence. Transdisciplinary teamwork is thriving, based on evidence-based decision making. Outcomes are improving for students, clinicians, patients, and healthcare organizations, based on an evidence-based paradigm.

Conclusion:

Many EBP programs, whether well-established or new to the healthcare market, are stagnant and less effective than those that have incorporated the current best evidence related to EBP transformation. This session will reflect what differentiates a highly evolved and comprehensive EBP approach to organizational transformation. The mechanisms utilized to identify and to incorporate best practice s in EBP education along with relationship building and sustainability interventions will be described and discussed including: early consultations; on-site delivery of programs; multiple track offerings; and strategic follow up strategies.

Exemplars of the innovative work of The Fuld in advancing EBP through collaborative relationships to create unique and customized EBP programs for various organizations such as; large and small healthcare systems, Comprehensive Cancer Centers, the United States Armed Services will be shared.
