The infrastructure for nursing research in European countries is fragile and postdoctoral nurses have limited career opportunities. Well documented evidence proves leadership and mentoring impacts patient, professional and organizational outcomes. Dutch nurse leaders joined to develop the LMNR program to strengthen future nursing leadership and career development of postdoctoral nurses.
