The individual who experiences illness or disease is influenced by his or her religious or spiritual beliefs. This is also true with death or activities of health promotion. Nurses need to integrate spiritual care to patients if the concept of holistic nursing is being implemented. The purpose of this research was to determine the level of knowledge that BSN nurses in intensive care adult units have about spiritual care. A descriptive quantitative non-experimental design was used to determine the level of knowledge for spiritual care. A sample of 28 nurses was used from 3 ICU hospitals from the area of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Nurses were given a multiple choice questionnaire with 31 items. Findings were analyzed with descriptive statistics. Results reflected a satisfactory and above average level of knowledge for spiritual care.
