Comparing Risk Factors of Obesity Among Obese and Nonobese Children in Isfahan

This is a comparative study about the kin of food and their relation with obesity.This case –control study was performed to determine some factors affecting childhood obesity (6-12 years) .The case group consisted of 150 obese children referred to the cardiovascular research center and the control group consisted of 150 non obes echildren. Both groups were selected by convenient sampling and were matehed with respects to age. Sex and living area. The findings revealed that there was a relation between obesity and physical activity, using of snack, parents body mass index, birth weight, the kind of milk using in family in obese and non obese children. The findings also show that the average use of junk food in fat children is x= %66 and sd=1/33 and in non fat children is x= %66 and sd= %79 . This research is done with t student (p= 001) and the deference is significant. Average times of using bread and grain in fat children (3/74) is more than nonfat children (x=0/16) . The number of families that has used oil in fat children was more than non fat children . Also 25 fat children has used their supporting food before four months and in 10 non fat children has used their supporting food before four months. Also the result of this research has shown that there is a relationship between the times of using junckfood and presence of obesity. According to the research of shekel oleslam et al using of unimportant junck in food program of children under 3 times more than important and useful food The finding also revealed no relation between obesity and economic than and arrangement of birth. In view of these results and the increasing of obesity in children, special attention should be paid to primary prevention.
