Learning Objective 1: The learner will be able to describe the use of technology for communicating with members about events as they occur.

Learning Objective 2: The learner will be able to discuss the value of using technology to communicate with members about chapter activities as they occur.

Delta Upsilon Chapter at-Large traditionally mailed a paper newsletter twice a year to apprise the members of upcoming or previously held events and activities. This publication contained information that was important but not timely in its communication with the members. With the addition of a new member to the Chapter Leaders, a recent graduate and newly inducted member of Delta Upsilon, the Board decided to communicate with members via Facebook.  A Delta Upsilon Facebook site was created as well as a revised Chapter website. With the use of this technology, Chapter leaders are able to upload photos, announcements of events, and descriptions of activities as they occur. This provides a timely ability to communicate with members. Examples of posted activities and events will be presented. Benefits and challenges to this approach to communications will be identified.
