Description/Overview: This session will present health care reform issues that are driving changes in health information technology. A review of the IOM report and the TIGER initiative will be presented. The role that nurses play in these reforms, as well as leadership opportunities to shape the future of health information technology will be explored.
Learner Objective #1: Discuss the role of health information technology in nursing and describe trends in health care reform that are driving changes in health information technology.
