Promoting and Sustaining an Evidence-Based Practice Environment

Learning Objective #1: Identify three strategies for sustaining use of evidence-based practices in acute care settings
Learning Objective #2: Describe necessary components of an organizational infrastructure to promote and sustain evidence-based practices in acute care settings
The purpose of this focused discussion group is to address strategies for promoting and sustaining an evidence-based practice environment in the acute care setting. As more federal dollars are allocated to scientific discovery, leaders of healthcare organizations are being called to demonstrate how scientific findings are being applied in care delivery to improve patient outcomes. Facilitators and organizational resources are necessary to practice from an evidence-based. This discussion will provide examples of how different organizations use innovative approaches for integrating use of evidence into clinical and operational decisions.
