Strategies for Evidence-Based Nursing Education

Learning Objective #1: Describe methods for incorporating evidence into educational programs
Learning Objective #2: List four strategies to promote evidence-based practice through education
Nurses in clinical settings around the world are constantly challenged to provide the most current interventions and highest quality of care to their patients. The recent emphasis on evidence-based practice has prompted renewed interest in accessing, evaluating, and implementing research findings and other forms of evidence to enhance nursing care and patient outcomes. Nurse educators can support evidence-based practice by using evidence-based approaches in teaching. In this symposium, nursing faculty will offer four different perspectives on the use of evidence in nursing education.
