This presentation will present findings from a range of action oriented research projects taking place with the Royal Hospitals Trust. The projects, that take place in a wide range of in-patient and out-patient environments, share common approaches that involve working closely with clinical teams to: Critically explore their practice and patient experience using quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques and critical pedagogical strategies using the concept of person centeredness as a frame of reference; Identify core values and beliefs and practice development programmes that will increase the degree of person centeredness within their environments; Evaluate the impact of practice development programmes on practitioners and patients.

Existing evidence in this are suggests that such approaches have an impact on patient and staff satisfaction and promote team cohesion and increase morale. Initial stages of data collection in these projects suggest similar positive impacts. The findings and the processes that brought them about will be presented in depth.
