Learning Objective #1: Enumerate the steps of communication as a constructive process
Learning Objective #2: List the context of individualized mutual communication between caregiver and client

Communication is a very individualized part of our clients as is culture, and they go hand in hand. Cultural beliefs and norms all intertwine in the present healthcare of multicultural and sub-cultural communities. The daily nurse-client interaction starts in different ways and concepts for means of communication. To start communication both the sender and receiver must have the ability to encode and decode the intentions of the various kinds of signals being sent. Communication is essential for: assessment, instructions, questions and answers; but must of all for the accomplishment of excellent nursing care. The constructive process of communication would explain the words, actions, and model behaviors in the work settings that have an effect on clients' perception of the health caregiver and the health care organization. Understanding ones own culture will bring about a greater sense of community as well as integrity and self-worth in a multicultural and sub-cultural environment. Thereby, identifying which barriers intervene with communication healthcare providers' ethics and commitment would not be jeopardized. This presentation will describe options of various means that can be used by nurses and healthcare personnel to accurately communicate with monolingual clients.
