New Strategies for Strengthening Evidence-Based Practice: Individual and Integrated Competencies
Learning Objective #1: Identify the components of a professional practice framework that is designed to support evidence-based practice
Learning Objective #2: Discuss education and implementation strategies that strengthen evidence-based practice including individual and integrated competencies
Health Care Organizations have been focussing attention on evidence-based practice to improve patient safety and care outcomes. Varied strategies have been implemented in Health Care Organizations to accomplish evidence integration at the point of care delivery. Traditionally, many strategies focus on individual competency and are implemented outside of a professional practice framework. Often these strategies provide only short term outcomes and can't be sustained for long-term success. This focused discussion will explore expanded education and implementation strategies that support integrated competencies as well as individual competencies within a proven professional practice framework. Evidence-based practice integration strategies will be discussed using examples and actual case studies.
