Summary
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome is more than a diagnosis in the neonatal intensive care unit. The journey to implement evidence based care includes empowering nurse driven improvements, staff and parent education, mindset changes, decrease in length of stay by 21 days, and peer support for parents of NAS infants.
