Learning Objective #1: Describe the process for the model development, faculty implementation and evaluation of a WebCT based learning resource site.
Learning Objective #2: Discuss the benefits of a learning resource site for nursing students and faculty and the impact on nursing students success.

With the increased number of students and corresponding increased faculty workloads, there is a need for creative strategies to support student success, since they are our future nursing leaders. This faculty developed web-based resource addresses this need by providing a standalone source to enhance student learning and success. Faculty identified and developed content from their specialty area for inclusion.

Students can access resource materials as often as needed within their own time frame from any location. The site contains theory, clinical skills, and test taking content, along with an evaluation component.  Each unit includes links for film clips, streaming video, and other online resources.  The site is easy to navigate and may be individualized.

The evaluation section of the model allows the student to respond to eight quantitative questions on a 3-point Likert scale to indicate their satisfaction with 1) ease of use of the site and 2) each content area accessed.  There is also a place for four open-ended questions to address strengths and recommendations for improvement. In the initial phase of implementation, evaluative feedback from students (N=50) has been positive.  Students report both ease in locating and usefulness of content accessed. They also indicated film clips and streaming video enhanced their learning.  Specific evaluation data from over 100 additional students will be available by August for inclusion in this presentation.
