The study utilized the qualitative case study design to explore and describe the concept of health promotion, its significance and ways to integrate health promotion strategies in nursing practice. The data was collected from three different sources; focus group discussion, key informant interviews, and document review. The data analysis was done through content analysis.

The assertions made from this study were; first, health promotion in nursing practice is possible if nurses understand the meaning of health promotion, consider the health and developmental needs of the country, expand the role of nurses from health educator and care giver to developmental role, and focus on variety of health promotion strategies with inclusion of health education. Second, assertion made from the findings that Post RN BSc nurses have the knowledge and understanding of health promotion and its related strategies but enabling environment to practice the variety of health promotion strategies is not always present. Recommendations were made for curriculum, practice, and future research.
