Pressure sores occur as a result of multiple factors which includes pressures, friction, and shearing forces Kaltenhaler et al (2001).The objectives of this study was to explore nurses’ knowledge, attitude and practice related to pressure sores’ prevention and treatment and to evaluate nurses practices and compliance to preventive skin care policy at AKUH. Pressure ulcer is one of the major health care problems in health care industry. It not only increases patient length of stay and financial burden on health care agencies but is also source of distress for patient as well as care givers.The findings of this study will help Nurses to launch and implement better strategies to prevent pressure sores. This will promote a culture of patients safety and improve health related out comes at a Tertiary Care University Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan
